The
RDS 3000 is suitable for data capture and document imaging solutions on several types of financial documents, including checks, credit transfer slips,
travelers checks, utility bills and other vouchers.
This versatile and compact reader-scanner, addressing counter as well as middle-office and back-office processing requirements, combines high functionality and performance with small footprint: several different data entry devices are combined in a single unit, using only one interface. The front roll-on stamp option and the rear inkjet endorser increase the performance and flexibility of the system.
While the RDS 3000 captures high quality document images in
grayscale,
in a single pass, providing equally accurate codeline reading.
High capacity in a compact machine
Automatic document feeding
Codeline reading and superior imaging
Voiding and endorsing options
Automatic
Document Feeder :
The document auto feeder can hold up to 80 standard documents, and documents may be added to the feeder without interrupting document flow. To ensure that only one document enters the paper path at a time, the double feeding control (transparency check) works with two
photo sensors at different heights, located immediately after the feeder.
Codeline
Reading , MICR and OCRs :
The units MICR reading functionality decodes both CMC7 and E13B magnetic codelines. Reliability of the system is undisputed, based on the experience of thousands of Seac Banche codeline readers installed worldwide. The MICR head is spring-loaded, so that it can easily accommodate documents with different paper weight and thickness.
The proprietary onboard decoding system for OCR documents (optional) can read OCR-A, OCR-B and E13B codelines and mixed font OCR-B X E13B (UK Bank
Gyro), with outstanding accuracy and reliability. The OCR system can also be used for barcode reading.
Image
Processing :
The RDS 3000 uses the most advanced technology available on the market for high-performance image capture. Images captured by the RDS 3000 are perfectly clear and sharply defined. The system allows for up to three separate images of a document to be captured in a single pass. Images are scanned under program control and can be used to provide input to OCR/ICR character recognition systems, allowing for the acquisition of reliable and accurate data, as well as stored for archive and retrieval.
Resolution can be selected via application software, independently for front and rear images 200 x 200, 100 x 100, 200 x 254 or 100 x 127 dpi (depending on transport speed), 256 or 16 shades of grey, green or red light source (the latter showing red dropout images).
Additional
Features :
The programmable inkjet endorser height-adjustable at either 35 or 45 mm from the bottom edge can print a variable string of data on the rear side of the document, up to full document width. The optional roll-on front stamp can be used to void documents: the pad can be
personalized by the user, and it is automatically inked before each stamping action by an inking roller. Voiding and endorsing are controlled by the application.
The RDS 3000 can also be equipped with an optional manual magnetic stripe card reader which is housed in its own track at the front of the unit.
Pockets :
The RDS 3000 is equipped with two adjustable sorting pockets with a capacity of about 80 documents each,
motorized to prevent paper jams and equipped with pocket-empty photo
sensors. The sorting criteria are set by the application.
